His rule began after a period of conflict anand internecine rivalry of succession that followed the death of his father, Sultan bin Ahmad, in November 1804. He is often referred to as the Lion of Oman (\u0623\u0633\u062f \u0639\u0645\u0627\u0646), as one of the greatest Omani sultans.<br \/>\nSultan Said bin Sultan expands Oman&#8217;s influence in Zanzibar, East Africa, and parts of the Indian subcontinent.Upon Said&#8217;s death in 1856, his realm was divided.
